Crypto asset service providers to submit updated information
The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) has published a notice on 6 October 2025 containing an Information Request 2 of 2025 (FAIS) in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS Act). This notice calls all Crypto Asset Service Providers (CASPs) performing crypto asset-related activities in South Africa to submit certain information by 5 December 2025.
This request follows the FSCA’s 2022 Declaration of a crypto asset as a financial product under the FAIS Act as well as the publication of FSCA FAIS Notice 90 of 2022, which provided conditional exemptions for persons rendering financial services in relation to crypto assets.
Submission timeline and deadline
All CASPs must ensure that information as of 30 June 2025 reflects and must use the Microsoft Form
Submissions must be made via the official FSCA form link (provided above) or on the FSCA website under: Regulatory Framework → Notices → FAIS Notices → 2025

Deadline for submission is 5 December 2025.
It is important to remember that failure to provide the required information within the specified timeframe constitutes an offence under Section 267 of the Financial Sector Regulation Act (FSR Act).
